New Yawk Comic Con '08

Seriously, bitches. Anybody at NYCC better stop by. I'll be there. Also, as if THAT weren't reason enough on it's own, I'll be with two lovely ladies who are clearly much more talented than I am.
Juno of Star Crossed Destiny fame, and JoJo who does my new favorite romantic comedy of mythic proportions, Dis: Life is Hell. There'll be comics!There'll be...other stuff, too! But, seriously. Anyone there should stop by. Something tells me Juno and Jojo will be almost as much as my MM boys were at TX (damn, I miss you guys).

SPEAKING of MM, your fellow MilitiaMen Carly and I will be at WWLA in march. No, I'm not changing it to "MilitiaWoman for Carly. Not because she's lacking in femininity, but because we'd lose the alliteration, and I like alliteration. At least i THINK we'll be there. I honestly have no clue. I imagine I'll know for sure when I get a call that Friday from Carly saying, "Where the hell are you?!"

Sketch dump, ho!

I've been sketching for the past.. all day. And here is what I did! ( for the most part, anyways )

First we have BIZARROFROO, who hails from a parallel universe and is everything NORMALFROO isn't. There isn't as much motion in the pic as I'd have liked. Might reposition an arm or leg for the final pic.




And then there's this sort of fairy.. thing, which was going to be one of my characters, jessamine, and turned into.. a fair thing.

In my defense, both of these were done with a mouse. So that's why they suck.

Playing around with the new coloring technique still, and in the habit of stealing line art from people more talented than I...BEHOLD!



Yeah, Riot drew this a while back, and uh..yeah. I needed something to color with lots of skin so yeah. I guess I should start drawing more scantily clad women so I can actually color some of my own artwork. Oh well! Still, it's good to have my computer back so I can actually work on stuff, so I'm just getting it all out of my system.

But (This should make Riot happy) I actually colored something with (Gasp!) TRADITIONAL MEDIA! Wooaah, don't that just beat all? While my computer was busted, I needed to color and a friend of mine had a riot'esque case of prisma colors. I balked, but eventually I actually managed to do okay. The scan alas didn't turn out so well, as I have no idea how to scan these blasted things, but here ya go. Wingnut's second use of prisma markers. (First attempt was Shiva I think.)





Well, back to work I go, but not to worry, now that I have my computer back....well, expect to see much more of my scruffy mug around here.

So I needed some lineart...

So Freux, I hope you don't mind, but I needed some line art to try out a new coloring style, and I just couldn't resist.



Supposedly this technique makes skin tones look a lot more realistic, and I'm really satisfied with the result. Shazam I say! So life's been interesting, my computer has crashed again, my cellphone has been lost in a lake, (sorry if people have been trying to reach me, :P) And I just now got over a wicked plague that has been rampaging around Manhattan. Fun times no? So hopefully, I'll be back in action within the next few days, the fine fine people at T-Mobile have informed me that my new cell phone should be ready to go by friday, but how why it takes so long to swap out a SIM card I'll never know.

Guh, oh well. Expect me to be back in action soon kids, this is just a li'l reminder that I'm still part of this world, just a little cut off from it. ;D

WWTX SKETCH DUMP

See how long it takes me to do anything. I've had these around for ages and on my hd for like a month and I'm just now posting them. There're actually a ton more, but I don't feel like scanning them. So there.

I need to draw new stuff. So I'll post everything I've done in the past 2 months. From earliest to newest. Get ready, this'll be epic.

Ok, so here is what I know-

I know that we're awesome. But you guys knew that already.

So here's whats up. Apparently, as said earlier, DD is scaling back it's con's this year. But, after talking to our lover-ly Carly, apparently MM has a table if they want it. Personally, I say fuck yeah. Here's the deal tho, I gotta make it to this thing, because I have a date. And it would be very VERY rude of me to stand a lady up like that. Sorry, but I'm not a punk like that ;}. So, the big question, who's all making this shindig? Do we have an official roll call yet, because I don't think DD is gonna help us much here. We're on our own for this one I think gents, so lets get this rapped up as soon as possible, as tickets are very expensive, and only getting more so.

And if we decide to opt out on this one, Kris and I will just have to schedule something else. We were thinking mexico. Hey, if you've got a passport, use it right? Muahahah!
